The Story of Cosmetics

The Story of Cosmetics, released on July 21, 2010 at storyofcosmetics.org, examines the pervasive use of toxic chemicals in our everyday personal care products, from lipstick to baby shampoo. Produced by Free Range Studios and hosted by Annie Leonard, the 7-minute film reveals the implications for consumer and worker health and the environment, and outlines ways we can move the industry away from hazardous chemicals and towards safer alternatives. The film concludes with a call for viewers to support legislation aimed at ensuring the safety of cosmetics and personal care products.

XanGo and Operation Smile Recommit to Thailand Mission

As order slowly returns to Bangkok, XanGo, LLC and Operation Smile will travel to the Chonburi province of Thailand this week, where they will provide 100 corrective surgeries to children born with cleft lips or cleft palates. Despite the risks associated with travel to a country recently ravaged by 10 weeks of chaos and turmoil, XanGo and Operation Smile are keeping their commitment to the Thai people and to their joint organizational mission of changing lives, one smile at a time.

Among the invited patients at this week’s mission are children of the farmers who harvest mangosteen for XanGo. The Utah-based company is recognized for creating a global category of premium mangosteen-based products, such as global market leader, XanGo® Juice.

With the recent developments in Thailand, XanGo and Operation Smile hope their efforts will play a small role in restoring hope to the Thai people. The journey to Thailand fits into a larger picture of caring, as one of four stops on XanGo’s tour with Operation Smile. The 2010 Season of Smiles mission includes visits to Tlaxcala and Guadalajara, Mexico, and Ulan Ude, Russia. By the end of the tour later this summer, 350 cleft lip and cleft palate corrective surgeries will have been performed.

Each year, more than 200,000 children are born with a cleft lip or cleft palate, and are often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. With the help of dedicated medical volunteers and through generous donations and partnerships, such as the long-term XanGo partnership, Operation Smile provides free surgeries to children around the world, healing their smiles and bringing hope for a better future.

Vegas---WHEW!

I'm still recuperating, what a whirlwind event! As usual, XanGo did it first class and with much inspiration! Dick Hoyt had everybody in tears! His humility and love for his son--just priceless. What he has done over the last 30 years so his son could feel as though he had no disability reminded me of God and his son, Jesus Christ and how Christ died for us. I am not kidding, you could feel a very strong spirit in that convention hall.

Gordon Morton, Jr., always my favorite speaker, was in rare form again. He used Tinker Toys to explain the XanGo compensation plan--lol! It was so simple, yet brilliant. I will never look at Tinker Toys the same again. Juni's line of family care products offered a convention special, Hand Refresher. Not hand sanitizer (with all the poisonous chemical crap in it). They offered 3 different scents and I think they all sold out. Rather than making your hands really dry, like regular hand sanitizers, this made your hands feel soft! What a concept!

The momentum that XanGo is experiencing right now is about Mach 7. Mexico is our leading market right now, or at least 2nd. Estella Salinas has surpassed Sherman Unkefer as the largest income earner! You go sista! She deserves it, she is a hardworking leader in Mexico. Russia is growing fast as well and I heard that Brazil will be open by next year. I guarantee you that country will grow like the speed of sound! It was so fun to see friends I've met through mymangosteen community and Facebook.

I appreciate the XanGo founders so much for "walking the walk and talking the talk." They have such integrity and compassion for all the charitable work they do.

Speaking of charity. Last January I committed to adding the meal pack to my adp every month and I'm so glad I did. What a blessing it is to be able to provide those meals to severely malnourished children. In the last two years, we have been able to provide over one million meals and will probably hit two million by the end of this year. What a company--best in the industry bar none! I am so blessed and grateful I have the opportunity to share it with others.

Ciao for now!

I am looking forward to sharing all of the latest updates and pictures with you when I return so stay tuned....!

Need to Know: Dry Skin Essentials

in XanGo Products by Misha Hughes, Paramedical Master Aesthetician
In the mid-70’s it was thought that the Stratum Corneum (SC), the outermost layer of your epidermis and your skin’s barrier, was biologically inert seen as something similar to a thin sheet of plastic covering the body. Over the last 30 years in particular the past 5 years scientists have discovered the biological and chemical activity of the SC is incredibly intricate and complex. Understanding the structure and function of our barrier is important because it is the key to healthy skin. Hydration is absolutely essential for proper functioning of the skin particularly the SC. The retention of water (hydration) in the skin is reliant upon two major factors, the presence of natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and proper barrier function to reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Why is this important to you? If you have skin that is typically dry, it is critical that your skin care regimen address both of these issues in order to deliver results. I not only believe that Glimpse thoroughly addresses each of these key issue for typically dry skin it does it without the use of silicones, mineral oil, or lanolin. BioActive X3 works in harmony with Niacinamide and Glucosamine to support your skin’s barrier 1, 2, 3. Additionally Glimpse cleansers are sulfate free, sulfates can aggravate a dry skin condition.

Please keep in mind that the various Glimpse regimen modifications are just one way you may adjust your daily regimen to address your current skin condition, there are numerous ways to customize your regimen to achieve your best skin.

Remember, your skin is a very dynamic organ and what it needs varies from day to day. When you have become familiar with the formulas you will naturally start adjusting your mixtures, customizing them to deliver to your skin what it needs now.

In Loving Memory of Linda McCarthy

I had the pleasure of spending an evening with Linda (and Mike) McCarthy once last year and it made an imprint on my life. She has angelic qualities to her and loves everybody. She was a very classy lady.

From Betty Quattlebaum and Theresa Horab:

"It is with great sadness that we bring this message to you. After a courageous fight to stay with us, Linda McCarthy passed on last evening surrounded by her husband, Mike, and 3 sons, Randy and Scott Fishburn, and Joshua McCarthy.

We thank you for your many prayers and continued support during this difficult time. Arrangements are being made and we will provide you with that information as soon as possible."

200K Glenn & Gayla Sparks:

"Linda entered this world crying while others rejoiced... she leaves this world with ALL of us crying while she rejoices being in the presence of her LORD! We miss you Linda and give thanks for the eternal impact you have left on our lives! We are better because of you!"

Doug Wead:

"Linda McCarthy died at 11:00 PM, Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Her long battle over."

"The passing of Linda McCarthy marks a unique moment in the world of business. As a networker, Linda and her man Mike, who survives her, were renowned for their generosity. Their popular website, McCarthy Central, drew views far and wide from around the world. It was an attraction because it gave information and priceless technique and did so freely. The information was far more valuable than the tricks and gimmicks others sold at a premium."

Denise Villahermosa:

"Just recieved some sad news this morning, Linda Mccarthy, a friend, mentor and one classy lady, passed and went on to be with the Lord last night. She was awaiting a liver transplant at her hometown in Colorado Springs, CO. Please keep Mike her husband, and family in your prayers as they walk thru this difficult time in their lives. Linda you will be missed!!"

100K Les Berenson:

"Linda and Mike have been leaders leaders. Linda's unselfish gift of sharing and serving will serve countless others for a long time. We offers prayers to Mike and his family."

"Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. " Psalms 23:4

The Power of Helping Others Get What They Want

Last Friday, February 19th, 20K Alan Prince and 20K Rob Despain hosted our XanGo Business Networking Luncheon. WOW! What a powerful meeting that was! I have never heard Alan speak like that--so sincerely from the heart. It made me so grateful to be one of his business partners. That's what true Network Marketing is; helping others get what they want--being of service to THEM!

This morning Premier Justin Prince interviewed 20K Jeff Sutherlin from Phoenix, AZ. ONCE AGAIN--another testimony of how LOVE is the most powerful leadership skill of all. That is what we do in XanGo--we love and serve each other. It does not get better than that!

XANGO Life. As it should be.

NETWORK GIVING

Six million children under the age of 5 die every year as a result of hunger.

ONE CHILD EVERY SIX SECONDS

Can you say "YES" to the following statements?:

* I have the desire to better humanity through giving.

* I have the willingness to invest $90 a month to alleviate world hunger.

* I have the commitment to reach 5 people who also have the desire to become generous givers. * I have the determination to help those 5 givers reach 5 others through 5 generations.
* I have the discipline to invest in ongoing strategic and heart-led philanthropic projects.

If so, there is a system in place that will help you build your team of givers so YOU can make a difference! A saying used often that is absolutely true:

When the team works, the dream works.

There is a team ready to help you build your team and business while providing a training system that will help you succeed. So, what if you could…

…make a strong residual income from home by impacting the lives of the malnourished

…by working 10-12 hours a week

…with a team that would train you for free?
